Animated Oven Mit

Heh. Bet nobody's named an entry THAT before!

Anyway, I know it's been months, but I've just sort of lost the groove here. I realize that I've had many more positive experiences with this diary than negative ones - I just have to remember that.

Anyway her is an amusing story that happened a couple weeks ago.

I was in the kitchen getting something to eat, and I noticed that the oven mit had fallen off the top of the refreigerator. "Oh well," I thought to myself, "I'll pick it up in a minute." Of course sometimes I get distracted and things don't get picked up for weeks, but that's what I thought.

Suddenly I catch some movement out of the corner of my eye. Did that oven mit... move? And while I was staring at it, pondering, it actually jumped a couple incies off the floor. Holy crap, it's alive!

I crept over to it and gingerly picked it up. Peering out from inside the oven mit was Grayson the hamster, who obviously must have escaped from his cage, and who thought the lining of the oven mit was tasty. We've had some mouse problems in the past, but when I looked in the oven mit I was pretty sure of what I would find.

I thought this was funny and cute so I brought the oven mit over to Lily, who thought I was trying to show her something dreadful I had found. Hey, it's just a hammie!

If Grayson hadn't been attacking the inside of the oven mit so fiercely, I might not have noticed him missing for days. Once again, we have further proof that hamsters really suck at hide & go seek.
