Goodbye Sweet Mo Last night I looked in on Sweet Moses in his cage, and he was dead. Sadly, it wasn't a surprise. In the last two weeks he'd gotten bigger and bigger and bigger until he was absolutely round. He could hardly move he was so big. It was like he was being inflated. He didn't seem like he was in pain, but he certainly wasn't comfortable. I've never seen anything like this happen to a hamster before, and I certainly hope I don't ever see it again. The poor little guy was swelled up like a balloon. Mo was such a sweet, gentle hamster. Even when he was sick he wasn't peevish or prone to biting. Lily hasn't been playing with him much recently because it seems like she is always sick, and she didn't want him to catch anything. It seems that hamsters are disease magnets, and catch many human ailments with the greatest of ease. Not that our caution helped much in the end. Here is an entry about Sweet Mo as a baby.
