Planetarion: Frozen Hatred

Today, at long last, Round 4 of Planetarion finally ground to a halt. The site is still up, and everyone can still access their planets, but the game has stopped ticking.

The game was scheduled to stop at 18:00 Central European time, so Johnny and Terror decided to be cute and launch attacks on people they didn't like. Terror launched on Lily, and Johnny launched on me. Since the round was ending, I could have ignored them, but I decided to treat it like a real attack. I got defense for Lily and myself, and then launched retaliations on Terror and Johnny, with the help of some other galaxy-mates.

A couple hours into this Cocky showed up and launched on the main target of his ire: Sharon, our former GC. Britannia also got incoming from some of Terror's friends.

If you are a Planetarion player there is one thing you learn quickly: never trust the creators. They actually froze the game two hours later than they said they would. The net result was that Terror's fleet got mauled at Lily's planet while Johhny's fleet got blasted at my planet. At the same time, I was getting asteroids off Johnny and Lily was picking them up off of Terror - not exactly the solution they envisioned. They thought that the game was going to be frozen with them ABOUT to land. Oopsie! Guess it sucks to be them, the dolts.

It's a sad picture indeed looking at the galaxy news now. Nearly everybody has hostile incoming, with the occasional defender here and there. It is a picture of frozen hatred, of fleets racing toward targets they will never reach.

A little portrait in green and red: who wishes who was dead.
