Back Home Again

Finally, my love Lily is home again.

Earlier in the evening she gave me a call saying that her connecting flight was delayed in Newark, so she'd be a little late. Ah, the delights of modern air travel.

When the time rolled around I hopped in my car and headed for the airport. I gave myself enough time so that I could stop at a convenience store and pick up a rose to hand her as she exits the gate. I found a very nice one that was purple/silver.

When I got to the airport, I found that the plane was nearly an hour later than Lily said it would be. That's okay, I don't mind waiting.

So there I am, sprawled in a seat by the gate, reading a book with the rose resting in my lap.

And then the plane arrives, and there's Lily and Tanya coming through the gate. Then she is in my arms again, and my face is buried in her hair.

Reunited.
