Planetarion: The Inevitable Last-Minute Vendetta

Gee whiz! How can I get all the things I want to get done finished if I keep getting distracted by Planetarion?

Oh well, whose fault is that?

This round is clearly winding down to its end. We seem to be missing the usual newbie attacks that mark the end of the round. All the newbies seem to be interested in is donating to make huge fake planets. Well, good for them. Just so long as they keep out of my hair.

Actually the newbies seem to be systematically taking down the large players with their donated resources. However, the sad fact is that our galaxy is far enough from the top that they will probably never get around to us.

Or at least I thought that until today.

Over the last several days I've been amusing myself by pillaging planets that have been obviously abandoned. By doing that I've been able to get a pretty large pile of resource-producing asteroids. Too bad I didn’t think to do this earlier - I might actually be a big planet now. Oh well.

However, yesterday I encountered some minor opposition from a small galaxy that has a couple good targets in it. Annoyed, I called in some friends to smack them hard and teach them a lesson. Well, I've just discovered that this little galaxy also has some friends, and these friends are attacking me right now. At the same time some nutty guy in the tiny galaxy is spamming me with insulting letters. Gee, I guess I hurt his tiny feelings!

You know, this seems to happen at the end of every round. Some jerkwater planet thinks that a pile of donations actually makes them our equal and we have a little duel.

The annoying part of this is that due to end-of-round torpor it's hard to find people willing to counterattack. Adding to this annoyance is the fact that most of these newbie attackers are lousy targets.

Oh well! Nobody said the game had to be easy!

I just got another nasty letter from the nut-job in the small galaxy, saying that I better not attack him again if I know what's good for me.

Heh. Like Bugs Bunny says: "He don't know me very well, do he?"
