Planetarion: Fury Saves the Day Groggily I got out of bed and sat down at my computer. Lily hadn't been kidding: our galaxy had major incoming, much more serious than the day before yesterday. However, unlike the previous occasion, only three planets were being hit: Adamantium, Xtasy and Britannia. These were the three Fury players who had helped hit Arthur's galaxy. This retaliation seemed better organized than their last attempt on us: Britannia and Adamantum each had nearly a million hostile enemy ships coming in. Lily and I sat down and started to get defense from our allies. Even though there were more attackers, it seemed easier to get defense. Maybe that's because I wasn't being attacked myself. I concentrated on getting defense for Britannia first. I notice he had almost as many attackers as Adamantium, even though Adamantium was far bigger. I think this was because the players in Arthur's galaxy thought he was the ringleader of the attack. I just assumed that there was going to be no way to cover Adamantium again, and his planet was going to get raped again. However, Lily got to work calling in defense, and soon, to my surprise, Adamantium seemed mainly covered. However in spite of this, there was an odd man out: we could not get enough ships to cover Xtasy. I was in the Fury channel when one of the biggest Fury planets suggested a cute strategy. Without going into a great deal of detail, it was a way to flummox the attacker into using too many ships to attack with, which would limit the amount of resources he could steal. It involved someone sending a small defensive fleet an hour late, but pulling it before it could land. I figured that it was worth a try. No sooner had I voiced the desire for a small defensive fleet for Xtacy, then one appeared on the galaxy news screen. It would arrive, as requested, an hour late. So all we had to do was wait. It was with some trepidation I watched as the enemy ships drew closer and closer. I was not sure that we had enough defensive ships to cover, and many of the defenders were arriving late. Then, with the ships 2 hours out, the attackers began to pull from Britannia. Then the attackers began to pull from Adamantium. We had done it! The fleets heading for Xtacy stayed on course, however. Also one of the attackers of Britannia was still coming, but he was facing overwhelming odds. To my utter amazement, the trick at Xtacy worked. The attacker landed for one hour with too many ships, and then fled in the face of the small defensive ships. Xtasy lost some ships, but he lost few resources. I also found out later that the person who sent the defensive fleet sent them to the wrong planet by mistake. A lucky break for us! Even better, the lone attacker of Britannia actually landed and got his fleet annihilated. He must have made some sort of mistake, or forgotten about the attack. His planet lost about 40 million points worth of ships in that botched attack. The attack was almost a complete victory for the defenders. Weeee! Of course, the down side of this was is Arthur's galaxy probably hates us more than ever. The only thing that might protect us from the wrath is the fact that they are so score-conscious. They are the number one galaxy in PA but there are others close on their heels. I don't know how much resources they want to waste punishing a bunch of nebbishes like us with the end of the round so close at hand. Something else: during this defense Fury came through like a champ. At the height of the battle there were over 5 million defensive ships in our galaxy, and the lion's share was from Fury. Recently, Fury has had some hard times, and for a while they looked to be everybody's football. Suddenly, Fury seems to be back on track again. Everyone in the galaxy seemed quite impressed with the amount of ships Fury was able to call on. That's a good thing too, because I suspect we are going need Fury help again, and soon.
