Planetarion: Comes the Revolution The war of words in our galaxy has deteriorated to the point where the situation is critical. This is continued from the mess here. After threatening it for days, Sharon, our Galactic Commander, fired Lily as Minister of War yesterday morning. She just appointed someone else, with no warning. The guy who is now MoW is an experienced player, but he was as surprised as anyone when he logged in to his planet and saw that he was now Minister of War. This immediately precipitated a huge fight between Sharon and me on IRC, where many mean things were said. Sharon appears to be some sort of paranoid, and she seems to think that we have been scheming against her. Why bother, for heaven's sake? It's only a bloody game. While Sharon and I were arguing one of our galaxy mates kept chiming in a most irritating way, egging Sharon on. This guy, whose IRC nick is Wonder, immediately began pumping to become MoW as soon as Sharon started threatening to fire Lily. I thought that Wonder was be an opportunistic little shit and I told him so. When he got all upset and started name calling, I bitchslapped him. This guy does not deserve to be an officer. This round he's been mainly inactive, but last round he was even worse. He had the worst attacking record of anyone. Through stupidity or carelessness he managed to lose his fleets eight or nine times. Someone else made the comment that if it weren't for donations from his galaxy mates Wonder would have a negative score. So I told him all of that. Boy, he hit the ceiling! You'd have thought I set his doll house on fire. Sigh. So much for my diplomatic detachment. It was extremely irksome to have him interrupting with his irrelevant crap; he seemed to be utterly focused on his own petty concerns while the galaxy was falling down around his ears. I wanted to smack him again, but I had bigger fish to fry. Ironically, Lily and I have managed to bury the hatchet with the two guys I mentioned in the previous Planetarion entry, Kru and Terror. IF they can forget about this silliness, why can't Sharon? It was too bad that this happened early in the morning, when I was not at my sharpest. However, one good thing about the early hour was that Lily was still in bed. If she'd entered the fray, things would have been much more heated. That girl sure knows how to stand up for herself. For the life of me I can't figure out why Sharon wants to fire Lily. As near as I can figure out, it's sheer feminine jealousy. She cannot bear to have another strong woman in her domain. Sharon has also butted heads with another female galaxy member, a woman from Australia. Nothing much was resolved, although everybody got good and angry. Because I wasn't thinking too clearly it didn't occur to me to do what Lily did when I was fired - threaten to quit. That might have sobered Sharon up, but I doubt it. It also seems plain that Lily and I don't have much support from out galaxy mates. They all just sort of sat there with their thumbs up their asses while Sharon was screaming at me like a madwoman. Most of the galaxy was there because even though it was 8AM in the U.S. it's already the middle of the afternoon in Europe. I've had it with this idiotic galaxy. As soon as I get the time to do it properly, I'm going to write a real nice resignation letter. See if I can stir up a little trouble. Hey, sedition can be fun!
