Something Fishy

A few days ago I told the sad story of the lost boxes of chess historical documents. Today added a new twist to the story - the boxes may not be destroyed after all.

I'd been putting it off, but last night I finally called Daniel and told him the sad story of what had happened to the boxes. He came back with a totally different version of events.

Yes, there were boxes of chess stuff that were destroyed by a cleaning crew at a building he owned, but they were his own personal stuff - his rather extensive chess library. Since Daniel's wife had hired the crew that threw the books out, I got the impression that it was a BIG issue between him and his wife.

Anyway, Daniel had a firm memory of loading the boxes of historical stuff in the back of a truck of a guy named Martin, who I've mentioned before. I've called Martin twice, but he has not returned my phone calls. Daniel gave me the phone number of a guy that can get in touch with Martin personally, and might help me sort this out.

I'm starting to feel that I'm getting the runaround, and that Richard may not have been 100% truthful with me. Something fishy is definitely going on here.
