Missing Season Today we got one of those little weather surprises that this part of the world is famous for. Lily and I went outside to go out to lunch, and it was hot. I don't mean "unseasonably warm" I mean hot. Damn hot. Summery hot. T-shirts and shorts hot. Eighty degrees hot. Like I'm saying, it was hot. Inside the Hamster Palace, it got warmer and warmer. Finally I looked at the thermostat and it said 80 degrees. So I opened up windows on both sides of the house to create a cross-draft. That worked for a while, but then it got hotter again. The poor hamsters looks miserable in their cages. I looked at the thermostat and it read 83. So I shut all the windows and turned on the air conditioning. The air conditioning! Okay, a couple of weeks ago we had snow on the ground and now I can't walk outside with a jacket on without dying of heat stroke. It seems that we have gone directly from winter to summer with nothing in between. Gee, that's too bad. I sort of liked Spring.
