To Be Or Not To Be This was sort of a lost weekend. There were all sorts of things that I meant to do, things that needed to be done, and yet very little was accomplished. Not that YOU guys would know that since about the only thing I managed to do was get this journal all caught up into the present day. Yes, indeed. No more writing entries and then putting a date on them that was like a week ago. And so on. I was thinking of Hamlet's famous speech, "To Be Or Not To Be." He's got two choices: "To take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing end them," which sounds like a hell of a lot of work, or: to make his "quietus with a bare bodkin." That is, stab himself with a dagger. Again, not much fun. Too bad he didn't think of a third choice: "Forsooth! What plays upon yonder television?" It was very, very cold this weekend (Like Duh! February in New York!) and in spite of the fact that the lying thermostat CLAIMED that it was 68 degrees in here it felt more like 18. So the choice was between going into the library to work and freezing my ass off or climbing back in to bed and staying warm. Guess which one I chose? Damn straight I did! The reason that I have to get working on these projects is that this week coming up is going to be full of busy stuff and next weekend Lily and I are going out of town. We're going to a chess tournament! I warned Lily that it would be boring as hell since she doesn't play, but she said that she'd rather be bored with me than without me. Isn't that sweet? Speaking of which, just about my favorite moment of the day is when Lily wakes up. I'll be sitting at my computer and I hear her stirring. Then I hear her going into the bathroom there will be that question: is she going to come see me in the computer room or is she going back to bed? And then I'll hear the bathroom door open and she'll come wandering into the living room all tousled and sleepy, rubbing her eyes like a little girl. Is there anything cuter than that? I doubt it. Good morning, baby! Reading the preceding, regular readers might think that I am on crack or something. No, no, no. I just spent a couple of hours reading other people's journals and I think I've been infected by their style. That happens to me sometimes. Now, to work!
